The CHEFS Gala is an annual fundraising event benefiting Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco, the Bay Area’s most impactful provider of housing and supportive services for individuals and families who have experienced homelessness. This year, the Gala will be held at the San Francisco Design Center on Saturday, May 14th from 6PM - 10PM. The Gala celebrates our CHEFS (Conquering Homelessness through Employment in Food Services) program, which provides employment training and placement for students in the culinary industry as a pathway out of poverty.
We need several volunteers for each of these positions, so this would be a good volunteer opportunity for a group of friends, co-workers or family members. We currently need volunteers for the following:
-Set up volunteers:
-Front Desk volunteers (greet and register attendees):
-Spotters for live auction:
-Silent auction monitors/runners:
-Break down volunteers:
-Check out volunteers:
If you are available on Saturday, May 14th and have been looking to re engage once again with your local community, this event is calling you.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to help homeless and very low-income people every day and night obtain the housing, jobs, shelter and essential services each person needs to prevent and end homelessness.
Description
Episcopal Community Services (ECS) has provided essential services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in San Francisco since 1983, utilizing a holistic approach that addresses the multiple causes leading to homelessness. This past year, we served more than 13,000 people, guided by our mission to help homeless and very low-income people every day and every night obtain the housing, jobs, shelter, and essential services each person needs to prevent and end homelessness.
The complex nature of homelessness calls for a multi-faceted solution. ECS serves adults and children through a range of services, including the City’s Adult Coordinated Entry (ACE), supportive housing, employment and education programs, healthy aging, information and referral resources, reentry housing and support services, interim housing, and behavioral health services.
