Interested in group or corporate volunteer opportunities? The ReBuilding Center works with groups of volunteers for all sorts of special projects year round. Volunteering with a group can build relationships, increase group morale, and create community connections.

Whatever your group size, makeup, or skills, we have a project for you. Some of the things you might do include:

- De-nailing lumber for use in our ReFind Carpentry Classes, the construction of tiny houses for the houseless, or for resale in our 50,000sq.ft retail space on N. Mississippi.
- Sorting and processing donated materials (doors, windows, hardware, lighting).
- Measuring and labeling doors and windows so folks can find that perfect piece.
- Assembling donated/reused furniture in our store to be sold back into the community.

And we're more than happy to gear projects to your group needs and areas of focus.

You can sign up by visiting our website at www.rebuildingcenter.org/volunteer

Mission Statement

To inspire people to value and discover existing resources to strengthen the social and environmental vitality of communities.

Description

The ReBuilding Center is a vibrant resource working to strengthen the environmental, economic, and social fabric of local communities. Founded by volunteers in 1998, The ReBuilding Center carries the region's largest volume of used building and remodeling materials. It provides resources that make home repairs affordable to everyone, with the goal of promoting the reuse of salvaged and reclaimed materials. Three hundred visitors come to The ReBuilding Center every day to browse the ever-changing inventory that includes sinks, tubs, tile, lumber, doors, windows, trim and much more.

In addition to the reuse warehouse, our Community Outreach program works from the roots to bring people together to share their ideas to inspire practices that strengthen community. We envision neighborhoods that recognize and build on the strengths, talents, and resources of each individual to create a healthier, more vibrant community.

The ReBuilding Center also includes ReFind Furniture, which offers a diverse line of green furniture and home accessories. We also offer a free-pick up service, numerous volunteer opportunities, donations of used building materials for community projects, as well as workshops and classes on how to safely and creatively work with used building materials.
