The Austin State Supported Living Center is a residential facility for over 200 individuals who have intellectual and physical disabilities. We are looking for volunteers to help with upcoming fundraising and social events. Volunteers would help with event prep such as set up and decoration, day of activities such as registration, overseeing booths/activities, interacting with residents and the community and post-event activities, such as tear down and clean-up.

All volunteers must complete the application process prior to working with the residents. Please contact me for more inforation!

Mission Statement

The mission of Austin State Supported Living Center is to provide aid and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in order to increase their independence and improve their quality of life.

Description

Founded in 1917, the Austin State Supported Living Center is home to mroe than 200 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The center provides a beautiful living environment and a wide range of individualized training and recreational programs.

Among the benefits received by the residents are comprehensive medical and psychiatric services; occupational, speech, and physical therapies; vocational and life skills training; recreation activities; community outings (shopping, dining, recreation, sports, etc.); and much more.

We are centrally located on 97 oak-covered acres at the southwest corner of 35th Street and Mopac in Austin, Texas.
