Volunteering with VAP in Thailand

Workcamps (2-4 weeks) typically bring together a temporary community of 6-20 international volunteers from different backgrounds to provide services to local community projects. The volunteers carry out unskilled tasks that would not otherwise be possible. The practical work is only part of the main objective. The work is a tool and method to promote intercultural understanding and friendship between the volunteers and with the local community.

VAP's Medium/Long Term Volunteering (M/LTV) Programme gives you the chance to volunteer abroad from 1 to 12 months, working in a project organised by one of the many grassroots organisations that VAP co-operates with around the world. M/LTV is not only about work, but it is also a unique experience of combining living abroad with learning a new culture and getting to know the local people, while being deeply involved with a project and its aims.

All volunteers must pay an application fee. This fee is the main income of VAP. It is needed to pay all our costs for running our programme. (wages, communications, travel to meetings, conferences, office running costs.)
The fee for a project in the Standard Programme is 250 GBP. This placement fee includes your membership of VAP and will pay for your food, accommodation and the social programme for the duration of the workcamp. If there is an additional participation fee to pay upon arrival to the hosting organisation, this will be indicated in the project description. This placement fee also includes a place on a Orientation Seminar including food, accommodation and materials. The fee does not include travel costs to/from the Orientation Seminar.
Volunteers participating in the Medium/Long Term Programme will need to pay a fee of 275 GBP and have also the possibility of joining an Orientation Seminar.
