Play any type of instrument? Have a record collection? Can you play music on your smart phone? Offer your time and become a hospice volunteer!
Sing or Play Music? Bring enjoyment to those on Hospice in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus! Do you enjoy music? Do you like to sing? Do play a musical instrument? Can you play music using a smart phone or CD player? YOU DON'T NEED A LOT OF TALENT, just a willingness to give time to someone receiving hospice care! We appreciate a gifted musician, however, if you like to just play music or sing along you will still can make a difference! Music and singing bring comfort and companionship to all people but is so appreciated by those who are confined and receiving end-of-life care at their homes or a facility.
Giving an hour or two a week can truly make a difference in people’s lives. As a volunteer with Compassus, we'll train and support you every step of the way! Volunteers meet all sorts of people in hospice and each has a story and different circumstances. You will learn so much on how to enjoy the time you spend with them!
Steps to become a Hospice Volunteer:
*Must be over 18 to participate
*A desire to help make a difference in the lives of patients and families

*Arrange a time to discuss what it means to be a hospice volunteer
*Attend an Orientation at our office
*Successfully pass a criminal background check, and a two-step TB test, at no cost to you

Description
Compassus Hospice - Western Ohio serves Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and surrounding communities providing end of life care.
At the heart of hospice is the belief that everyone has the right to dignity and freedom from pain at the end of life.
That's why Compassus creates personalized care plans, giving patients the specific care they need and deserve.
Hospice is a service brought to the patient wherever they live. We focus on reducing physical and emotional suffering during the final stages of illness, and increases the quality of life for patients, their families and loved ones.
Volunteers typically travel 5-20 miles from their home or work addresses to visits patients 2-4X a month.
