This volunteer position's role is to pick up animals from the Nebraska Humane Society and deliver them to our Baldwin Wildlife Center. We typically have 2 shifts per day, 7 days a week, at 10:30am and 6pm. However additional shift may be created depending on the season. This volunteer position also has the ability for the volunteer to be On-Call, in case any of our usual weekly Transport Volunteers are unable to make it to one of their shifts.

There is a required in-person Volunteer Orientation as well as an additional in-person Humane Society Transport Volunteer Training Class that need to be completed before you can sign up for shifts.

Must be able to provide proof of up to date auto insurance, a drivers license, and proof of COVID vaccination.

Description

Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, Inc. is a non-profit organization of professional wildlife rehabilitators working under permits from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition to wildlife rehabilitation, NWRI engages in extensive educational activities and programs for youth and adults.
Volunteer opportunities include Feeding/Cleaning Animals, Diet Prep, Cleaning, Rescuing injured/orphaned animals, and transporting animals to and from our Baldwin Wildlife Center located in Omaha, NE 68127.
*All volunteers must be over the age of 18.
