Help someone learn the English language.
Get to know someone from another culture while helping them improve their English skills. Tutors are needed to help adults improve their speaking, reading, and writing skills.
You don't have to be a teacher or even have a college education because we will train you with everything you need to know! We want volunteers from all walks of life! Our students are diverse, so we want our tutors to be diverse too!
One-to-one and small group opportunities are available throughout Wayne County. Contact us and we will work with your needs!
Plan to attend one of our upcoming New Tutor Orientations:
"New Tutor Orientation"
This workshop introduces volunteers to our mission, tutoring opportunities, and volunteer options. New tutors must attend ONE orientation class, and then may complete the rest of their intended teaching coursework on-line. As a follow up, new tutors must attend "Keys to Successful Tutoring" as soon as possible after completion of online courses.
