Kitchen Volunteers: Kitchen volunteers have a variety of roles which may change through the lunch service. Under the direction of a Surrey staff member, kitchen servers will help with creating attractively plated lunches and sides, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and cleanup, including putting the dishes through the dishwasher and washing the tablecloths on site.

Café Volunteers (Daily 11-1:30) Servers, bussers, dessert cart server, drink cart server, check in cashier. Like a restaurant, the Surrey Café serves lunches and operates as a full-service Café. There are a variety of roles. Servers set the tables before lunch as well as serve food to tables. Bussers remove dishes to the kitchen and wipe them clean in preparation for dishwashing. The dessert cart and drink cart servers bring the carts tableside.

  • 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM EST - FULL
    Training provided. No previous experience needed. M-F

  • Activities, exercise, clubs, lunch, and lectures at any Surrey center - Bryn Mawr, Broomall, Devon, or Media
  • Nutritious meals available in-person or Grab and Go Monday-Friday at Devon, Broomall, and Media
  • Transportation services, fee-based and free, provided by volunteers, Surrey Drivers and through partnerships with Chester County Community Transit (Chester County) and DELGO Community Transit (Delaware County)
  • Home care services including RN Care Management for help with medication management and care; personal care for help bathing and dressing; and Personal Finance Management for help with bills, insurance claims, and long-term care policies.
  • Opportunities to downsize and consign with the Surrey Consignment Shop.
  • Free instruction, support, and hands-on training for family caregivers and aspiring caregivers at The Surrey Academy.
