Meet indivdually with an adult who would like to improve basic reading and writing skills. Once or twice weekly meetings include phonics and word patterns as well as practical reading and writing needs such as reading to children, reading and writing for work, and reading for personal interest. We also are seeking volunteers who would like to help adults new to the United States learn to speak English, share cultural information, or discuss US government and history for civics and citizenship participation. Meetings can take place at any Harris County Public Library branch.
