Are you passionate about helping unsheltered individuals transform their lives from homelessness to wholeness? GMOVP invites you to join our Board of Directors and become a key part of our mission-driven journey.

What the Board Does

The Board of Directors governs and oversees GMOVP’s operations, ensuring ethical, legal, and strategic leadership. Board members serve as fiduciaries, guiding the organization toward a sustainable future by:

  • Adopting sound governance and financial policies

  • Ensuring adequate resources to advance GMOVP’s mission

  • Providing foresight, oversight, and insight

  • Engaging in fundraising and advocacy to amplify our impact

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape and uphold GMOVP’s mission and strategic vision

  • Make high-level decisions that align with our values and goals

  • Review and approve budgets and financial plans

  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on programs and events

GMOVP Needs YOU If You:
  • Are passionate about helping the unsheltered overcome homelessness

  • Can dedicate 6-10 hours per week to fundraising and collaboration

  • Can attend monthly board meetings

  • Are willing to leverage your connections, networks, and resources

We’re Especially Interested If You:
  • Have experience on nonprofit boards or fundraising committees

  • Bring skills in event planning, grant writing, or major gifts

  • Are committed to meeting a personal give/get goal

  • Want to contribute your unique background, talent, and passion

Next Steps

Board members serve 2-year terms and are encouraged to recruit one new member by the end of each term. This is a volunteer, non-compensated role-but it’s one of deep impact and purpose.

Mission: To be a loving community that facilitates access to resources and empowers the unsheltered to overcome adversities, grow spiritually, and become independent and free from homelessness.

Description

God's Messenger of Victorious People (GMOVP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides food, clothing, personal hygiene, support, training and resources to the homeless and low-income families within the San Antonio community.

Vision: To develop a supportive service program for the unsheltered that overcomes barriers, facilitates access to resources, and empower them to progress from homelessness to wholeness.

GMOVP journeys one-on-one with the unsheltered to ensure they are able to obtain access to the local resources and complete their process to gain independence and freedom from homelessness.

GMOVP provides discipleship to individuals seeking to understand the Bible, develop a closer relationship to God, enrich their spiritual walk, fulfill their purpose and serve the people of God.

GMOVP also provides life, marital and relationship coaching to empower individuals to sustain their marriage and build strong relationships with the people they live and work with.
