Position Summary: The Director of Community Impact and Strategic Initiatives will lead the development and execution of innovative programs and partnerships that support the mission of God's Messenger of Victorious People (GMOVP). This position plays a key role in expanding GMOVP’s reach, ensuring sustainable community engagement, and driving measurable outcomes aligned with our mission to help the unsheltered overcome the barriers preventing them from gaining independence and freedom from homelessness.
This volunteer position is critical to the sustainability and growth of GMOVP and has the potential to transition into a paid role based on performance and funding availability.
This is a Hybrid role in San Antonio, TX and reports to the Founder/President & CEO.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 10-15 hours per week, with flexibility depending on project needs.
Ability to attend in-person or virtual meetings and events.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Development
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance the organization’s vision and mission.
Identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the communities GMOVP serves to inform program development.
Design scalable solutions that foster social equity and empowerment for underserved populations.
2. Community Engagement and Partnership Development
Build and maintain relationships with local and global organizations, government agencies, and community leaders.
Represent GMOVP at events, conferences, and meetings to increase visibility and secure partnerships.
Lead efforts to engage stakeholders in GMVOP programs, including volunteers, donors, and corporate sponsors.
3. Program Oversight
Oversee the implementation and evaluation of key programs, ensuring alignment with GMOVP’s goals.
Collaborate with program directors to establish metrics for success and assess community impact.
Identify funding opportunities and assist in preparing grant proposals to support initiatives.
4. Leadership and Team Collaboration
Provide guidance to staff, volunteers, and board members to align efforts with strategic goals.
Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and collaboration within GMOVP.
Act as a thought leader to inspire others in the mission of creating inclusive communities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in program development, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership.
Strong understanding of the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.
Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Passion for social change and a commitment to GMOVP’s mission and values.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in grant writing and fundraising.
Knowledge of housing solutions, career development, or social services.
Leadership experience in a growing nonprofit or community-based organization.

God's Messenger of Victorious People (GMOVP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides food, clothing, personal hygiene, support, training and resources to the homeless and low-income families within the San Antonio community.
Vision: To develop a supportive service program for the unsheltered that overcomes barriers, facilitates access to resources, and empower them to progress from homelessness to wholeness.
GMOVP journeys one-on-one with the unsheltered to ensure they are able to obtain access to the local resources and complete their process to gain independence and freedom from homelessness.
GMOVP provides discipleship to individuals seeking to understand the Bible, develop a closer relationship to God, enrich their spiritual walk, fulfill their purpose and serve the people of God.
GMOVP also provides life, marital and relationship coaching to empower individuals to sustain their marriage and build strong relationships with the people they live and work with.
