Role: IT Manager (with Cybersecurity Responsibility)As IT Manager, you’ll lead the entire tech backbone of WDC - managing platforms, infrastructure, developers, and cybersecurity. You will secure sensitive humanitarian, financial, and governmental data - while also building powerful platforms for alerting, analytics, and smart response.
Key Responsibilities Tech InfrastructureArchitect and manage WDC’s platforms (Node.js, Firebase, React, Python, Postgres)
Set up secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Vercel, Firebase)
Ensure 99% uptime, data accuracy, and platform scalability
Implement encryption (at rest + in transit) for all sensitive data
Secure APIs, dashboards, databases with token auth, firewalls, and rate limiting
Monitor and protect user data (accounts, risk records, transactions)
Manage secure access to code repositories and internal tools
Conduct regular backups, audits, and vulnerability scans
Draft WDC’s Cybersecurity Protocol Document
Build, test, and deploy real-time dashboards and financial tools
Integrate APIs (GDACS, ACLED, USGS, OCHA, insurance partners, banking tools)
Maintain version control, testing environments, and DevOps tools
Onboard and manage junior devs or interns
Maintain clear GitHub repos and update architecture diagrams and system manuals
Report weekly to leadership and update tech roadmap

Requirements3+ years experience in full-stack or system architecture
Strong experience with cloud, APIs, and secure web platforms
Solid command of cybersecurity best practices (OWASP, HTTPS, auth flows, etc.)
Able to write secure, efficient backend code
Fluent in English or French
Able to take full responsibility for platform performance and data security
