ORGANIZATION: Glen Oaks United Methodist Church

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

We’re looking for caring volunteers to help keep the Glen Oaks United Methodist Church grounds beautiful, clean, and welcoming-inside and out.

Join us for ongoing property cleanup and maintenance activities including:

* Picking up trash
* Raking leaves
* Trimming trees and hedges
* Clearing flower beds
* Removing fallen trees and limbs
* Pressure washing sidewalks
* Sweeping and mopping interior spaces
* Painting outdoor light poles (if paint becomes available)

This is a great opportunity to serve the church and community, enjoy time outdoors, and make a visible difference in our neighborhood. Whether you can come for an hour or several, your help is deeply appreciated.

No special skills are required. Bring a spirit of service and a willingness to help. All tools and supplies will be provided.

Welcome to Glen Oaks United Methodist Church!

Since 1956, Glen Oaks UMC has been a faithful presence in the Glen Oaks neighborhood of Dallas. Starting from worship in a red barn, we have grown into a vibrant, welcoming community committed to loving God and serving others.

Our mission is to nurture spiritual growth, build strong relationships, and serve our neighbors through worship, education, and outreach. We offer weekly worship, Bible study for all ages, and community service programs including food and diaper drives. We partner with nonprofits like I Look Like Love and Thriving Kinship to extend our impact.

We also host health workshops, youth sports, and support groups, reflecting our dedication to holistic care for our community. Our church is a diverse, multigenerational family passionate about making a positive difference.

Volunteers are vital to our ministry, and we invite you to join us in serving and strengthening Glen Oaks through faith, hope, and love.

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 18
  • Volunteers are asked to commit 2–4 hours to complete the cleanup on the scheduled day.
  • Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Bring gloves. Ability to work outdoors and lift moderate weight is helpful.
