Do you have expertise in Legal, Digital & Social Media Marketing, Fundraising, Accounting, Organizational Development, Business Leadership, or Design Education? Leverage your skills to support the Ecosa Institute in delivering a learning environment that teaches regenerative design and ecological principles that align human aspirations with nature’s systems.

To cultivate a community of visionary thinkers who design with nature and challenge convention.

Role Summary

As a Volunteer Board Member, you will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization. You will collaborate with other board members and the executive director to ensure the organization’s sustainability, growth, and alignment with its mission. This is an unpaid position, but it offers a rewarding opportunity to make an appreciable difference in our global community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization's integrity.

  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the organization.

  • Assist in setting and achieving long-term goals.

  • Attend and actively participate in virtual board meetings (typically quarterly).

  • Review and approve budgets, policies, and major organizational decisions.

  • Support fundraising efforts and act as an ambassador for the organization.

  • Ensure the organization is compliant with legal and ethical standards.

  • Serve on and actively participate in at least one committee.

  • Support the Executive Director.

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • A commitment to the mission and values of the Ecosa Institute.

  • Professional expertise in areas such as legal, digital & social media marketing, fundraising, accounting, nonprofit management, business leadership, design education, or other relevant fields.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Previous board experience is a plus, but not required.

  • A willingness to dedicate time and energy to the board’s activities, including attending meetings and events.

Time Commitment

The expected time commitment is approximately 4-12 hours a month, including board meetings and preparatory work. Some additional time may be required for committee participation or special projects.
