The Red Cross has a virtual volunteer opportunity where you can choose to serve as much or as little as you can! Blood Donations tend to be lower in summer months when people are out of town or on vacation. That’s where you come in!
Interested volunteers would contact past donors, by phone or leaving messages, making a personal ask for people to donate again at an upcoming drive. This makes a huge impact on the number of donors who attend upcoming blood drives and ensures that hospitals have the needed resources on-hand. Volunteers would be given a list of past donors for upcoming blood drives, a script of what to say when talking to someone or leaving a message.
If you are interested in learning more about how to help the Red Cross, please reach out to Debra at Debra.Ahlers@redcross.org or 612-655-0008
Additional Opportunities through The American Red Cross (in-person, volunteers would need to reside in MN):
Blood Donor Ambassadors support local blood drives in the Anoka County, Minnesota. The Ambassador provides enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience. Volunteers welcome donors, check them into the drive, offer them refreshments when donations are complete and thank donors for their donation. Interested volunteers would serve 1 shift per month for 5-6 hours in length. Most drives are between M-F 7AM-7PM. To learn more, create your volunteer profile here:

Once a profile is created, volunteers would be contacted to complete orientation/training.
