About My Serenity Sanctuary:

My Serenity Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes self-care, well-being, and advocacy primarily for Black women and girls. We aim to cultivate a supportive online community that empowers individuals to prioritize their mental health and overall wellness.

Position Summary:

We seek a passionate, creative, detail-oriented volunteer content creator to join our team. The ideal candidate will help develop engaging and inspiring content that informs, inspires, and connects our online community, focusing on self-care, wellness, and advocacy themes. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and support the mission of My Serenity Sanctuary.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development:

• Create high-quality original content that aligns with MySS’s mission and cultural values.
• Develop multimedia content for social channels, online programs, and promotional campaigns.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with the Director of Online Services and Brand Manager to develop content strategies that engage our audience.
• Work closely with Community Managers, Program Managers, and the Creative Team to align content with current campaigns and community initiatives.

Editorial Calendar Management:

• Contribute to and maintain a detailed content calendar, ensuring consistent and timely content delivery.

Brand & Cultural Alignment:

• Ensure all content adheres to MySS’s brand guidelines, is culturally sensitive, and speaks authentically to the experiences of Black women and girls.

Performance Monitoring:

• Analyze content performance using engagement metrics and refine strategies accordingly.
• Create monthly analytic reports.

Qualifications

• Strong storytelling, writing, and visual communication skills.
• A deep understanding of culturally relevant content and a passion for holistic wellness.
• Experience in content creation, digital marketing, or social media management is preferred.
• Proficiency in multimedia content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of SEO and content optimization.
• Basic understanding of digital marketing and content strategy.
• Commitment to the mission of My Serenity Sanctuary and sensitivity to the needs of the community we serve
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates creative multimedia work is a plus

Time commitment:

• 10 hrs/week including mandatory meetings
• 6 months minimum
• Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
• Online Programming Team Meetings: Tuesdays 9 AM - 10 AM PST
