We’re looking for a Volunteer Programs Director-a passionate, impact-driven individual who thrives on making things happen, and is enthusiastic about helping others in the community. This role is ideal for someone who wants to take initiative, lead with purpose, and help expand our reach across diverse communities. You’ll oversee our educational programs, including courses, workshops, events, and camps, ensuring they run smoothly and grow in quality and scale.

This is a leadership role that works closely with senior management and directly shapes the direction and success of our programs. If you're a "get things done" person with strong leadership and organizational skills, and you care deeply about driving meaningful change in communities, we’d love to have you on board.

Position Type: Hybrid. Most work will be done online, but you are required to be in the Greater Vancouver, BC area for in-person events and initiatives
Time Commitment: 10 hours/week

Qualifications

  • A strong passion for creating meaningful community impact.

  • Preferably leadership or management experience in education, youth programming, or nonprofit work.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and manage multiple moving parts.

  • A "get things done" attitude-someone who doesn’t just plan, but executes.

  • Experience working with diverse teams and communities is an asset.

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and project management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of DC Coding’s programs, including weekly classes, community events, and seasonal camps.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support program staff and volunteers to ensure successful delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Impact Growth: Develop new initiatives and outreach strategies to expand our programs into new communities and formats.

  • Operations & Logistics: Ensure that all programs are well-organized, resourced, and delivered on time.

  • Evaluation & Feedback: Monitor program outcomes and gather feedback to improve program effectiveness and participant experience.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, instructors, and external partners to align program goals with the organization’s mission and values.

DC Coding Association is a non-profit organization located in BC, Canada that offers free coding related courses to children. We want to help those who really want to learn how to code but they may have financial difficulties.

Our goals are to:

  • To offer free or affordable high-quality coding classes to children and youths who really want to learn coding but their family has financial difficulties.
  • To allow more children and youths to have the chance to learn coding.
  • To give a place for more children and youths who love coding to collaborate and communicate together.
  • To make underserved communities better by providing this service and to remove barriers for those who want to learn and enter the coding industry.
