The Youth Resource Center offers a unique opportunity where you and a group of your friends can plan, prepare and serve a meal together to homeless and food insecure youth.

You can bring your own ingredients or speak with one of our staff about what we have available in our pantry.

Before you arrive: Our staff will reach out to you to confirm your appointment and answer any questions you have.

On the day: you will arrive one hour before meal time. Our coordinator will connect with you in our kitchen, give a brief tour, let you know what to expect, and give you time to prepare your meal.

Our staff will check in throughout your service and be available if at any point you need our assistance.

Once service starts to slow down our staff will walk you and your group through basic clean up requirements to set the next meal service volunteers up for success.

A few key things to note:

  • This opportunity typically takes two hours.

  • All volunteers MUST be over the age of 16 and have a guardian present if under the age of 18.

  • We require all volunteers to sign a liability and DWS boundaries waiver- provided on your arrival.

  • We ask volunteers to plan about 50 servings per meal.

Thank you for considering the YRC. We hope to see you soon!
