ORGANIZATION: Arlington Heights Memorial Library

The library offers material delivery services for Arlington Heights cardholders who are not able to visit the library due to a temporary or permanent condition. Deliveries are done on Monday mornings starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers come to the library to pick up materials and then drive (in their vehicle) a set route within Arlington Heights to drop off and pick up materials at customer homes.

What are the role responsibilities?
In this role, the volunteer is responsible for:
* Picking up pre-selected materials at the library and delivering them to customer homes
* Returning materials to the library
* Interacting with the customer on a personal level

What qualities are we looking for in a library delivery volunteer?
An individual who:
* Has excellent customer service skills and patience when working with customers
* Has the ability to follow guidelines and instructions

What is the time commitment?
This volunteer opportunity is scheduled for Mondays at 9 a.m-12 p.m. The time it takes to complete deliveries will vary depending on the route. Due to the public service and on-going nature of this position, reliable attendance is required. This is not a short-term committment. Deliveries are only done on Mondays.
