We have a competitive DIvision 4/5 that has been together for almost seven years. We are looking to obtain a head coach that can shardow our current coach and then take over the team next year. The team practices one time a week and has approximately 7 games in a season. The team also competes at the regional and possibly a state competition. The team has a very supportive group of parents and could really use a coach that works well with high functioning indivuals that can help them elevate their game.

Below is a our schedule from last year to help see the commitment. There are two expereinces assistant coaches as well.

About Strongsville Special Olympics

Location:

14465 Oakland Park Dr, Strongsville, OH 44136, US

Mission Statement

Special Olympics contribute to the physical, social and psychological development of the athletes. Through successful experiences in sports, they gain confidence and build a positive self image which carries over in the classroom, home, job and community. The Strongsville Special Olympic program welcomes athletes from public and private schools, County Boards of MR/DD, recreation departments, surrounding communities, and parent community groups.

Description

Strongsville Special Olympics is run entirely by volunteers. We have been very fortunate to have excellent coaches and parents that are willing to volunteer their time to help train over 100 athletes.

Families with children who have disabilities are like other families; however, having a child with special needs often thrusts them into situations that may make their everyday lives more challenging. Special Olympics allows families the opportunities to be part of a year-round sports training and competition program which provides the entire family with opportunities for sports, social interactions and fun. Worldwide, family involvement has grown to include more than 450,000 family members. Since 1968, family programs have been established in all 50 U.S. states and 42 countries around the world.
