Event Date: January 24, 2026

CommUnity of the Deaf, Inc. is seeking passionate and organized volunteers to assist with our upcoming Social Impact Gala on January 24, 2026. This signature event will promote Deaf inclusion, education, and accessibility while supporting our mission in the U.S. and the Caribbean.

We are currently looking for volunteers in the following roles:

  1. Sponsorship Outreach Assistant

    • Help identify and connect with potential sponsors and partners

    • Assist in preparing sponsorship packages and follow-up communications

    • Work closely with our development and communications team

  2. Program Manager Assistant

    • Support with event planning and logistics

    • Help manage the event timeline, program agenda, and outreach to speakers/performers

    • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth execution

Skills Needed:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Passion for advocacy, inclusion, and community impact

  • Experience in event planning, outreach, or nonprofit work is a plus (but not required)

Timeline:
Volunteer opportunities begin as early as July 2025, leading up to the main event in January 2026. Flexible hours with virtual and in-person options available.

Description

CommUnity of the Deaf, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2019. The CUD is a key advocacy and nonprofit organization for the multitude of Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Caribbean. The Caribbean Deaf community are concerned they are not adequately represented in their leadership, policies, and decision-making activities that affect their lives everyday. CUD advocates for the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing in all aspects of their lives. From public oppression to education to living standards, CUD is an organization that focuses on the betterment of the lives of members of the deaf and hard of hearing community in Caribbean.
