No school doesn't have to mean no food!
UCFS-CALC's Summer Study Camp combats the summer learning slide and childhood hunger! Each week over 65 Summer Study Camp students take home a backpack full of nutritious, easy-to-make meals and snacks. The following week, they trade in the empty backpack for a full one!
Volunteers will help pack the backpacks and prep the outdoor space for students to learn and play each week.
Come wearing comfy shoes and dressed for the weather, as the backpacks are prepped in a warehouse area and the Summer Study Camp space is located outside.
Volunteer dates and times are flexible, especially for large groups. The prep work can take place any Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Monday prior to the Summer Study Camp session.
