Rainfall Ranch Rescue is seeking a hands-on, reliable Property Maintenance Volunteer to help keep our horse sanctuary safe, functional, and welcoming. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, values animal welfare, and wants to make a direct impact in a community-centered nonprofit. Can have some or all skills listed.

Perform basic repairs to fencing, gates, and structures

Maintain pasture areas (mowing, clearing debris, light landscaping)

Help with routine barn maintenance and minor shelter improvements

Assist with tool, equipment, and materials organization

Identify and report safety issues or needed repairs

Support with seasonal projects like drainage, trenching, or shelter installation

Experience with basic tools and repairs (e.g., hammer, drill, saw, mower)

Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather

Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and perform physical tasks

Self-starter who takes initiative and communicates clearly

Respectful of animals, people, and LGBTQ+-affirming spaces

(Bonus) Background in construction, landscaping, or facilities work

Rainfall Ranch Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in rural Pierce County, Washington. Founded in 2022, the ranch provides rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong sanctuary for horses who have been neglected, abused, or at risk of slaughter. Beyond animal welfare, Rainfall Ranch Rescue serves as a hub for healing and education-offering free horsemanship and outreach programs that uplift underserved communities, including LGBTQ+ youth, veterans, and rural residents.

With a dedicated volunteer team and a strong commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and compassion, the organization bridges the human-animal connection to foster empathy, resilience, and personal growth.
