Children's Charity Seeking Additional Board Members

Variety the Children's Charity of Illinois is seeking dedicated volunteer Board Members within the larger Chicagoland area who love helping kids with disabilities. The mission of Variety of Illinois is to improve the quality of life for children with disabilities by providing the equipment and experiences needed to reach their highest potential. Board members are required to attend at least 1 fundraising event per year, attend monthly virtual board meetings, and meet an annual give/get amount through obtaining sponsorships or grants, volunteering at events, and/or attending fundraising events. We are specifically looking for additional dedicated board members that meet one or several of the below criteria:

1. Willing & able to tap into their network for sponsorships and silent auction items for our fundraising events.
2. Make connections to local disability services that Variety can partner with to host additional adaptive events.
3. Have experience or connections in event planning, especially a charity gala or golf outing.
4. Action oriented and have time to be delegated tasks during event preparation.
5. Experience managing volunteers at events (needed for both adaptive family events as well as at fundraising events)
6. Experience or interest in leadership position
