ORGANIZATION: MINT ARTISTS GUILD

We have a backlog of Paint Detroit with Generosity paintings - paintings created by our youth artists that need to get to their new nonprofit homes. We need an organized volunteer to come to the Mint Studios, contact the nonprofits and arrange dates for the painting pickups this summer.

The ideal person will be available for three hours once a week over the next eight weeks.

In between, you may help us prepare for the 2025 Paint Detroit with Generosity exhibit and come up with some new nonprofits that deserve our creative art work.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

20501 Livernois, # 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on new internships and mosaic making and more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
