Urban Tour Group will train you to provide 2 hour walking tours for 3rd graders in the metro area. The tours are all downtown and focus on the history, architecture and culture of Portland. We are seeking individuals who love history and learning and children. The group of guide meets monthly to listen to engaging civic leaders, artists, authors, and more. Commitment requires completion of the training and then 2 tours a month which are scheduled based on your calendar.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide providing free 2 hour, walking tours of downtown Portland, Oregon to students in third grade, with the goal of teaching them about Portland’s history, architecture, art and culture. Our vision is to inspire young minds to become good citizens.
Description
For over 50 years, Urban Tour guides have provided walking tours of downtown Portland, Oregon to third grade students in the metro area. Guides are trained and are asked to do 8 tours each year with groups of 5-8 students.Our tours address 14 of the Oregon State Education Standards.
We are a vibrant community of learners which meets monthly to hear engaging speakers on the history and culture of Portland and the northwest. We also share a variety of social activities.

- Training is 20 hours over several weeks. Tours are 2x month(Oct.,Nov.,March,April, May) for two hours.
