The Japan Society of Northern California (JSNC) is seeking a volunteer intern!
Founded in 1905, JSNC is a non-profit organization that steadfastly pursues its strategic mission to advance understanding, collaboration, and innovation between the United States and Japan in a global context. Our NPO engages with the Bay Area community through multiple monthly programs, including our annual Japan - U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium (https://www.usjinnovate.org) in July and our Friendship Cup Tennis Tournament (https://tinyurl.com/2025-JSNC-Tennis) in August.
We are seeking an Intern who will, under direct supervision of the Office Administrator and with general oversight from the Chief Operating Officer, assist JSNC staff with program preparation, marketing, communications, and database management. Other duties will include general support services (including administrating and managing information systems for the JSNC), organizing files and documents, and after-hour support for online programs and events.
This position requires a pleasant demeanor, fluent English language skills, good organization with an eye for detail, and a capacity to multi-task. The Interns will be part of a small team, demonstrating initiative to solve challenges.
The duration of this internship is for 3 months, with the possibility of extension. While the position is unpaid, we are more than happy to work with your university to help you receive credits or write a letter of recommendation for you.
A personal computer is required for this position.
