Gentiva Hospice partners with students on the path to becoming doctors, dentists, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals.The goal is to expand wisdom about dying and death. This includes how to make companionship visits and phone calls with patients and/or their loved ones, learning about bereavement, attending hospice care plan meetings and honoring a self-care practice. A hospice volunteer provides no physical care for the patient. The volunteer has the opportunity to learn from a highly experienced hospice staff.
We have no set schedules or shifts. Volunteers are able to plan their own schedules and may make visits on the weekend!
