About Embrace Abilities:
Embrace Abilities is a parent-founded nonprofit dedicated to creating spaces where people with different abilities-and their families-are celebrated, empowered, and supported. Our organization was built by and for families, and every program, event, and initiative is designed to center the needs, voices, and experiences of those with different abilities. While everyone is welcome, our primary focus is ensuring individuals with different abilities feel seen, included, and uplifted.
Why This Role Matters:
Our merchandise is more than just apparel or accessories-it’s a statement of inclusion and belonging. Every item helps tell our story, sparks conversations, and extends our mission into the wider community. Your creativity will help us build pride and visibility for people with different abilities across the Mississippi Gulf Coast and beyond.
What You’ll Do:
- Design with Purpose: Create original, accessible designs for t-shirts, stickers, bags, and more that celebrate the diversity, strengths, and uniqueness of people with different abilities.
- Reflect Our Brand: Collaborate with our founder and team to ensure all designs are warm, inclusive, and aligned with our mission and values.
- Community Collaboration: Incorporate feedback from individuals with different abilities, their families, and volunteers to make sure every product resonates and feels authentic.
- Digital Showcasing: Help us present new merch ideas through engaging digital lookbooks or flipbooks, so our community can view, vote, and get excited about upcoming merchandise.
- Ready for Production: Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with vendors or print-on-demand platforms as needed.
- Campaign Support: Support promotional launches or special events featuring new merch.
Who You Are:
- Creative, empathetic, and passionate about inclusion-especially for those with different abilities.
- Skilled in design tools (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar).
- Excited to learn about accessible and inclusive design, and value input from people with lived experience.
- Comfortable working independently, but enjoy collaborating with a small, supportive team.
Time Commitment:
- Flexible, estimated 2-4 hours/week (varies by project and your schedule)
- Remote work is welcome! We’ll coordinate via email or video call as needed.
What You’ll Gain:
- The chance to make a visible, meaningful impact for people with different abilities and their families
- Portfolio pieces and hands-on nonprofit experience
- Be part of a warm, supportive, mission-driven team
- See your designs help create a more inclusive world-online, at events, and in the community

Mission Statement
At Embrace Abilities, our mission is to foster meaningful connections and empower families of children and young adults with different abilities. We are committed to supporting the whole family through inclusive opportunities where individuals ages 3 to 21, their siblings, and caregivers feel valued, supported, and celebrated. Through free programs, community engagement, and tailored resources, we aim to bridge gaps in support and build a stronger, more inclusive community for all. We envision a future where families of children and young adults with different abilities thrive together in an inclusive and supportive environment. We believe in a world where diversity is embraced, every family member is empowered, and communities come together to ensure each individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
