Embrace Abilities is a grassroots nonprofit that supports families of children with disabilities through advocacy, resources, and connection. We’re built on lived experience - and we take every donation seriously, whether it’s $10 or $2,000.

What We Need:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy volunteer to help us build an Airtable or similar base that tracks:

  • Individual donations (date, amount, donor info, method, designation if any)
  • General Fund vs. Specific Programs (for restricted gifts)
  • Recurring vs. one-time donations
  • Sponsor tiers (Community Supporter, Bronze, Silver, Gold)
  • Obligations tied to sponsorships (e.g., event signage, blog spotlights, social media posts, public acknowledgments)
  • Follow-up tracking (e.g., thank-you sent, spotlight scheduled, invitations sent, benefits fulfilled)
  • Contact history and notes per donor
  • Dashboard/reporting tools to quickly assess impact and donor engagement

This Role Is a Good Fit If You:

  • Have experience building Airtable bases or similar CRM/donor tracking tools
  • Enjoy designing systems that improve efficiency and clarity
  • Want to support a small nonprofit with a big heart and big mission
  • Can recommend simple automations or easy-to-use views

Why This Matters:

We rely on donor generosity to do meaningful work - and we’re determined to follow through on every commitment we make. A well-structured Airtable will help us stay organized, steward relationships, and show our supporters they matter.

Mission Statement

At Embrace Abilities, our mission is to foster meaningful connections and empower families of children and young adults with different abilities. We are committed to supporting the whole family through inclusive opportunities where individuals ages 3 to 21, their siblings, and caregivers feel valued, supported, and celebrated. Through free programs, community engagement, and tailored resources, we aim to bridge gaps in support and build a stronger, more inclusive community for all. We envision a future where families of children and young adults with different abilities thrive together in an inclusive and supportive environment. We believe in a world where diversity is embraced, every family member is empowered, and communities come together to ensure each individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Description

Embrace Abilities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, founded by Bridgett Lee in 2024. Inspired by lived experience, we’re dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where children, young adults, and families with different abilities feel valued and supported. We offer whole-family support through free, community-driven programs that foster confidence, independence, and meaningful connections. Our active programs include:

  • Structured Monthly Indoor Events: Inclusive gatherings for socialization, play, and connection.
  • Parent-Led Park Meetups: Outdoor activities encouraging engagement and community.
  • Birthday Buddies Club: Monthly celebrations to honor each participant’s special day.
  • Coffee with Caregivers: Quarterly sessions for parents and caregivers to connect and share support.
  • Sibshops: Activities for siblings to build friendships and share experiences.
  • Sensory Toolkits & Lending Library: Access to sensory supports for use at events.
Our values are inclusion, equal access, health, and community-driven support. We welcome children, young adults, siblings, caregivers, and professionals to help build a stronger, more inclusive Gulf Coast community. All programs are free, and donations are tax-deductible.
