Opportunity for volunteer HOST FAMILIES in Monterey and surrounding area !
Invite an International Exchange Student to your home for a semester or a full school year! Hosting is an amazing experience that will enrich, not only yourself and your family, but also schools and the entire community. Host families come in all shapes and sizes. You may be a single parent, an empty-nester, a couple with or without children - All family dynamics are welcome!
As a host family you choose your own student.
- Our students must be 15-18 years of age
- Students cannot be graduated prior to program start date
- Demonstarte good conversational English
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Arrive with full health insurance and their own spending money
As a host family, you provide room, meals, and a loving family to be a part of.

Face The World Foundation (FTW) is a nonprofit educational and cultural exchange organization since 1980. FTW has promoted global learning and exchange by offering opportunities for international high school students to experience life in the U.S. The goal of cultural exchange program is to provide students, host families, schools, and communities with a quality experience that will not only enhance personal growth, but also will establish lasting friendships.
We offer Semester and Academic Year programs for full-time study in an American high school to students between the ages of 15 and 18. Students are placed in high schools across the country. All students are provided with medical coverage, emergency assistance through our 24-hour Emergency Hotline, and direct communication with the overseas sponsor and natural family.
