Join Seattle Tree Stewards and Dirt Corps for our One Seattle Day of Service event at Webster Pond! We will be learning about the Trees for Neighborhoods' free tree giveaway coming up this planting season and the Seattle Tree Stewards volunteer program, which provides community members with opportunities to care for their neighborhood trees and learn about different aspects of tree care and how they contribute to our community health and infrastructure. We’ll then be caring for the trees at this stormwater facility and wetland habitat by removing weeds to make room for new plants this fall and applying mulch around mature trees to keep them cool and hydrated through the summer. All ages and skill levels are welcome! Please wear clothing that can get dirty, including long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. We’ll provide the tools, gloves, snacks, hot drinks, and water.
