My New House is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented volunteer to assist our case managers in completing housing applications for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their current housing. This role is vital in helping vulnerable community members access stable housing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with case managers to understand the specific housing needs of each client based on income, family composition, and personal preferences.

• Accurately complete housing applications on behalf of clients for selected properties.

• Ensure all required documentation is gathered and submitted in a timely manner.

• Provide support with follow-up tasks related to housing applications as directed by the case manager.

• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information and circumstances.

• Show patience, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with clients facing difficult life situations.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Empathy and sensitivity toward individuals from diverse backgrounds

• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct

• Ability to work independently and follow guidance from case managers

• Basic computer skills and ability to complete forms electronically or by hand

Schedule:

Flexible, based on the availability of the volunteer and assigned case manager. Weekly schedule will be coordinated and confirmed in advance.

Training & Support:

All volunteers will receive training on housing application procedures, confidentiality policies, and best practices for client interaction. Ongoing support will be provided by the case management team.

Impact

My New House is a 100% volunteer-based organization. We are not hiring for paid positions at this time. Instead, we welcome individuals who are passionate about learning and creating meaningful impact in underserved communities. Volunteers play an essential role in sustaining our programs and services.
