ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Kauluwela Mission Corps' Food Pantry distributes quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. This program supplies critical nutrition to over 100 households per week. The Food Pantry distributes pre-packed food bags on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Many recipients of the food pantry speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin. We would like to provide these individuals and families with the best service and communicate with them effectively.

About The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division

Location:

2950 Manoa Road, Honolulu, HI 96822, US

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

The Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division of The Salvation Army covers the state of Hawaii and the Pacific Islands including Guam, Republic of the Marshall Islands and The Federated States of Micronesia.

Over our 120 history, we have served millions of individuals here in the Hawaiian Islands and across Pacific. It’s hard to imagine what our community would be like without The Salvation Army. Today, we have grown into a well-established organization, leading the way in providing services for basic human needs, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, youth, seniors, emergency disaster, and spiritual needs. Last year, we served over 117,000 adults and 23,000 children, one in ten people in our community. This year, the numbers will be higher.
