Volunteer Position: Podcast Production Assistant (Logistics & Guest Coordination)

Program: Hope in Uncertainty Podcast
Location: Indian Trail, NC (some remote coordination possible)
Time Commitment: ~4-6 hours/week | Weekly recording sessions (day/time flexible)

Overview: Hope in Uncertainty is Common Heart’s weekly 30-45 minute podcast highlighting stories of food insecurity, economic empowerment, community generosity, and grassroots transformation. As a Podcast Production Assistant, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role ensuring every episode runs smoothly-from guest coordination and set-up to supporting the hosts and helping source future guests. Primary Responsibilities: Guest Sourcing & Coordination

• Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to identify potential guests (volunteers, pantry guests, graduates, donors, partners, etc.)

• Proactively engage Common Heart staff, program leaders, and community members to surface story leads

• Confirm guest participation, gather bios, and communicate logistics

• Send reminder emails and prep materials (release forms, talking points, etc.)

• Welcome and support guests during taping (greeting, mic setup, water, etc.)

Taping Day Support

• Arrive early to assist with podcast setup (chairs, signs, lighting, sound check)

• Monitor visual/audio basics (training provided)

• Capture guest names and discussion highlights for editors/social team

Other Responsibilities

• Help clean up and organize files/notes

• Print or distribute run-of-show and host notes

• Track and restock snacks, water, batteries, supplies

• Maintain checklist of weekly logistics and guest tasks
