Crisis Response Teams (CRTs), operate out of each police department in Morris County. Each team consists of a group of volunteers who provide information and emotional assistance for victims. Their assistance has been imperative in strengthening and diversifying victims' support systems. Volunteers help the victim to feel less isolated and alone. CRT volunteers respond to the police department to provide emotional support, education on domestic violence, community resources and a safety plan. All victims are offered a follow-up contact by the local domestic violence agency, Jersey Battered Women's Service.
Anyone may go to a police department and ask to speak to a Crisis Response Team volunteer if they are interested in receiving information on domestic violence and local resources. All meetings are private and confidential.
