We will be providing you with a list of words containing early learner vocabulary and frequency words, and you will be able to craft your own 1-2 page story!

Why should you do it?

All accepted works will be translated into different languages, published, and sent out to areas around the world that do not have access to the resources needed to learn English. It is also great for resume building.

Mission Statement

Girls and Literature is a student-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to assist girls around the world who do not have easy access to education. We hope to give girls the opportunity to educate themselves, become leaders, and create their own change in the world.

Description

Girls and Literature (GAL) was founded in the Washington D.C. area and now has both national and international reach. Along with hosting virtual reading events, GAL has donated over 1,000 books across three continents. The organization has worked with students in Uganda, Kenya, Southern India, and Nicaragua as well as Afghan Refugees, among others. And, we are just getting started!
