YMCA of Paterson offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including participating in food rescue and distribution, providing nutrition education to people of all ages, supporting advocacy campaigns that fight hunger and build a more equitable and sustainable food system, and more.

Volunteer Opportunity: Food Distribution Support

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with our Food Distribution Program, held every other Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring our community receives the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with registration using a laptop and barcode scanner

• Distribute dry food boxes and fresh produce to community members

• Help with setup and cleanup of the distribution area

Qualifications:

• Friendly and reliable with a commitment to serving others

• Comfortable using basic technology (laptop, scanner)

• Spanish language skills are highly preferred to better serve our diverse community
