ORGANIZATION: Broadway Community

You already know the incredible impact Broadway Community has, seeing firsthand our humble yet powerful operation in the basement of the church. Now, we're inviting you to expand that impact by becoming a Giving Ambassador.

We're seeking passionate volunteers to help us build a strong foundation of recurring donors. Your involvement would mean:

  • Sharing Broadway Community's story and the tangible difference a $5 monthly gift makes (less than a coffee, commute, or streaming service!).
  • Encouraging your network to join you in supporting our consistent efforts to combat homelessness, hunger, and the mental health crisis in NYC.
  • Helping us secure the predictable funding that keeps our vital services running for hundreds of neighbors every single day.

This role offers the flexibility to engage from your home, social events, or online - wherever you feel comfortable sharing our message. We'll equip you with all the tools and information you need to succeed.

By championing monthly giving, you'll directly contribute to our long-term sustainability, ensuring Broadway Community can continue to be a beacon of hope for another 43 years and beyond.

About Broadway Community

Location:

601 West 114th Street, Basement, New York, NY 10025, US

Mission Statement

Dedicated to serving New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty, Broadway Community sets an abundant table, believing that everyone deserves justice, dignity, health, and wholeness. We empower one another with nourishing food, a welcoming environment, shelter, medical care, life skills practice, and faithful accompaniment through challenging times. We serve one another - breaking down barriers of poverty, inequity, and privilege - until all are fed, in body and spirit. We serve.

Description

We are on the front lines of New York City's homelessness, hunger, and mental health crises. Operating a broad range of programs including shelter, emergency food, on-site medical services, showers, case management, supportive counseling, employment assistance, housing navigation, and more, we help hundreds of people a week meet their basic needs and access the resources they need to improve their life circumstances.

Since March of 2020, we've distributed 750,000+ pounds of food to thousands of hungry New Yorkers, our shelter has provided over 28,000 nights of rest to 200+ neighbors, we've empowered 4,000+ volunteers to serve 40,000+ hours, and we’ve helped connect countless people to employment, permanent housing, and stable ground upon which they can rebuild their lives.

If you're looking for a place where your time and dollars will truly make an impact and improve lives, Broadway Community is where the rubber meets the road. Supporting our work is an investment that will directly pay dividends in the form of reducing hunger, providing shelter, and giving people the resources they need to get back on their feet.
