About AMAZING GRACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH

Location:

2424 McElderry Street, Baltimore, MD 21205, US

Mission Statement

Connecting people with the life changing power of Jesus Christ!

Description

AG aims to be a safe, healthy, healing gathering place for our neighbors. We are open all week offering programming & radical hospitality to area residents & unhoused neighbors who come in for coffee, to share their stories, seek out resources, referrals & support.

We operate the Center for Grace-Full Living to offer rotating health & wellness programs response to community needs. We currently offer yoga & will be bringing back mindfulness workshops in the new year. Current programming also includes collaboration with area partners to bring a weekly suboxone clinic & harm reduction outreach to neighbors as well as an all ages music program which incorporates drug-free education.

We also currently offer a robust Food Ministry, Bread for the Journey, which includes a client choice food & supply pantry, weekly community lunch offering, produce boxes & cooking classes.

We also help to steward the Amazing Port Street Commons which includes community garden boxes for growing food, fruit trees, a prayer labyrinth, rain & pollinator gardens, a weather station, community art & murals and green grass to play & gather for events. We are presently working to return to pre-COVID afterschool youth programming in the garden & maximize food production to further support neighbors struggling with food insecurity.
