ORGANIZATION: Artists Talk On Art

Artists Talk On Art (ATOA) - NYC’s longest-running art forum - is entering an exciting phase of renewal and positive change. We’re looking for a volunteer Programming Curator to start as soon as possible.

If you have a strong background in post-war modern and/or contemporary art, and an interest in critical dialogue between art, art history, and the cultural contexts that shape them, this is a great time to join a legacy nonprofit evolving with the currents of the time.

Role Responsibilities:

Develop and propose program themes and speakers

Curate biweekly Zoom-based panels and talks

Coordinate scheduling, outreach, and basic logistics

Collaborate with board members and volunteers

Host Wednesday night Zoom events (7:15-8:00 PM ET)

Ideal Candidate:

  • Deep interest or background in contemporary/modern art
  • Self-sufficient and proactive
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Excited to contribute to a forward-thinking ATOA under new leadership
  • Available to start immediately and commit a few hours/week
  • B.A. or B.F.A preferable M.A. or M.F.A.
  • Museum or gallery experience preferred

Remote Position - NYC-based preferred but not required

Description

Founded in 1974, ATOA is the art world's longest running and most prolific panel discussion series. Over 8,500 artists and other art world members have been presented and documented in more than 1,400 events in New York City. The Archive of American Art of the Smithsonian is the official depository of all past and future ATOA audio and visual materials.
