We ask that you

  • can commit to the initial 46 hour training to become a California Office of Emergency Services (CALOES) Crisis Counselor
  • can commit to being on-call for two 12-hour shifts monthly:
    • Currently, shifts are either 6pm - 6am or 6am - 6pm seven days a week.
  • can attend monthly in-service meetings, currently they are on zoom 6-8pm every second wednesday of the month.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in careers in mental health, criminal justice, and the medical field. As a volunteer advocate, you will get the opportunity to provide comfort and support to someone on what could be literally the worst day of their life. Letters of reccommendation offered after six months of service.
