Opportunity Description:

Join us in making a lasting impact in the lives of K-5 students from foster, homeless, and low-income communities by volunteering with the "Knowledge is Powerful in Literacy After School Program"! This unique program helps students strengthen their reading, math, STEM, and financial literacy skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Volunteers play a crucial role by providing homework help, mentoring, and encouragement-while also contributing to students’ academic growth and confidence. Whether you're helping with reading comprehension, setting up learning stations, or just being a friendly face, your time makes a powerful difference.

Mission Statement

The mission of Kids on the Move for Success believes that there are many issues that contribute to the success of children. For children to succeed, they must feel safe, must be transported to a world beyond their everyday life, learn that STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) fields are available to all (African American and girls) and that giving back to the community is important in learning acceptance and developing leadership skills. Kids on the Move for Success believes compassion, confidence and control are foundational elements in the success of children now and in the future. Our programs are designed to be mobile and dynamic allowing us to impact communities at the local, state and national level.

Description

Kids on the Move for Success strives to provide underserved children the educational opportunities to see the world through a new set of eyes. Our organization has awarded educational scholarships to students of all ages from kindergarten to graduate school. We are rolling out the Discovery sTEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) Mentoring Program to spur the entrepreneurial dreams of youth across the country.
