Help us to provide food to our friends and neighbors in Hunterdon County currently struggling with food insecurity. With recent cuts to food stamp programs and an over 10% increase in food costs in the last year, people are relying on food pantries more than ever.
At Open Cupboard Food Pantry we believe our community has a responsibility to address the food needs of those who cannot afford to feed themselves and their families. Since 1993, OCFP has provided more than 2 million pounds of food, assisted by more than 1,700 volunteers, keeping 8,600 people in 22 communities from going hungry. Although less visible than in urban areas, the need in Hunterdon County is significant.
Food pantry volunteers interact directly with clients, help them complete a shopping list and fulling the order. Volunteers also help sort donations and have a great time with the other volunteers on their shift! We are looking for people who can commit to a weekly three hour shift. This is your opportunity to make a difference in your community! Please visit the "Volunteers" tab at opencupboardfoodpantry.org for more information.

Mission Statement
Open Cupboard Food Pantry’s (OCFO) primary objective is to provide consistent and reliable access to nutritious food, ensuring that no individual or family goes hungry. We are also dedicated to promoting long-term food security through education and community engagement.
Description
Open Cupboard Food Pantry’s overarching goal is to alleviate hunger and food security in our local community. We achieve this through a comprehensive food assistance program that offers a diverse array of food items, including staples, fresh produce, pet food, baby formula, and personal hygiene products. In addition to addressing immediate food needs, we offer nutrition education and workshops. These programs are designed to empower our clients with the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthier food choices, thereby improving overall community health outcomes. Furthermore, we actively engage the community through volunteerism and partnerships with local farms and businesses, which not only enhance our food distribution capabilities but also support sustainable and climate-resilient food production practices.
