About Invisible Warriors:

Invisible Warriors is dedicated to empowering underserved women in military populations by providing crucial support in mental health, transportation, housing, and more. We strive to create a supportive network that addresses the unique challenges faced by these women.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced attorney to join our Advisory Board as a volunteer. The ideal candidate will provide legal guidance, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to the overall mission of Invisible Warriors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Guidance: Provide expert legal advice on matters related to the organization's operations, including compliance, contracts, and partnerships.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development and review of organizational policies to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
  • Advocacy Support: Offer insights and strategies for advocacy efforts aimed at improving the rights and resources for women in the military.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic discussions and provide legal perspectives on new initiatives and programs.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other board members and the executive team to support the organization’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
  • Experience in nonprofit law or working with military-related organizations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of legal issues affecting military personnel and veterans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to commit to attending regular board meetings and additional meetings as needed.

Commitment:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings and participate in committee meetings as required.
  • Estimated commitment of 5-10 hours per month.
