Looking for a rewarding way to give back? We’re seeking high school students to volunteer with seniors in local senior centers across the Boston Metro. As a volunteer, you’ll help older adults learn how to use technology-everything from texting and video calling to navigating apps and avoiding online scams. You don’t need to be a tech expert-just patient, friendly, and ready to make a difference. This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours, build leadership and communication skills, and form meaningful connections across generations.

Mission Statement
The HEAT Squad is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping seniors navigate the ever-evolving world of technology. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by providing seniors with hands-on tech support, educational workshops, and scam prevention resources--all at no cost. As a nonprofit, we believe that no one should be left behind in the digital age. Through community support and volunteers, we empower older adults to stay connected, independent, and safe online. By making technology accessible and easy to understand, we strive to enhance the lives of seniors and foster digital confidence for all.
Description
The HEAT Squad (Helping the Elderly Advance in Technology) is a nonprofit organization that helps seniors feel more confident using technology. We work directly in senior centers across New England, offering one-on-one support with everything from setting up phones and sending emails to using Zoom and staying safe online. Our goal is to make technology more accessible so seniors can stay connected to loved ones and the world around them. We've already helped hundreds of seniors and partnered with multiple senior centers to provide weekly tech support sessions, scam prevention workshops, and printed tech guides. We’re now expanding and looking for volunteers who are patient, compassionate, and interested in making a real difference.
