Location: Remote/Hybrid (Based in Louisiana)
Commitment: Part-time, Volunteer
Second Chance Living PMI (SCLPMI) is seeking 5 to 7 dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. As we expand our mission to empower justice-involved women through workforce development, mental health support, and transitional housing, we are looking for leaders who are passionate about social justice and nonprofit impact.
This is a rewarding volunteer leadership opportunity for professionals seeking to use their skills and experiences to guide an organization working to reduce recidivism and promote second chances.
Who We're Looking ForWe are especially interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Financial Management
Fundraising and Development
Marketing and Public Relations
Legal/Compliance
Human Resources
Nonprofit Management
Lived Experience with the Justice System (strongly encouraged)
We value diversity in backgrounds, professions, and lived experience and are committed to building a board that reflects the communities we serve.
Board Member ResponsibilitiesAttend quarterly board meetings (virtual or hybrid)
Provide strategic leadership and fiduciary oversight
Support fundraising and outreach efforts
Serve on at least one board committee
Act as an ambassador for SCLPMI in the community
SCLPMI is a nonprofit organization based in Louisiana, dedicated to empowering women impacted by incarceration. Our programs focus on transitional housing, workforce development, and mental wellness. We aim to eliminate the barriers women face after incarceration and provide real opportunities for personal and economic success.
Time CommitmentAverage of 4-6 hours per month
Board terms are two years, with the option for renewal

Description
2nd Chance Living PMI Corporation is an organization dedicated to supporting the lives of justice-involved women by providing housing and transitional programming, ensuring a successful transitioning back into their communities, and reducing their chances of recidivism.
At Second Chance Living PMI, we are committed to creating innovative and revolutionary solutions to the prison industrial complex and mass incarceration. With our leading approach, we guarantee a low recidivism rate by fusing innovation with education and discipline. Our evidence-based framework utilizes strategy and compassion to build personalized care for our clients.
Our organization understands that recidivism is a holistic issue that needs to be addressed from an ecological approach by providing women with necessities such as housing, personal care, and counseling while also equipping them with the tools and resources to prepare for their future.
Through our intensive career readiness program and job placement program, our clients can gain the skills they need to succeed in the workforce and valuable work experience.
