ORGANIZATION: Compassionate Care Hospice (Amedisys) Bedminster NJ

Volunteer to spend time with our hospice patient veterans. Listen to stories, share experiences, support their end of life journey by being there for them. A visit, a letter, a card, makes their long days so much brighter. Participate in a veteran pinning ceremony where we honor thier service with a pin, a certificate and a gift. All of these things support our brave vets with care, compassion and connection.

If you are interested in volunteering just respond to this ad and we can explain what is involved and how to get started. There is an application, paperwork and a background check plus some health requirements for in person visits. My name is Kris and I am the volunteer coordinator and I will happliy answer any questions and get the process started. I look forward to hearing from you.

Mission Statement

Amedisys Hospice Care is defined by its mission: To affirm life during its final stages by providing holistic compassionate care to patients and their families; by providing access to hospice care for underserved or difficult to serve populations; by wise and efficient use of available resources, and by educating the community in order to provide them with knowledge regarding end-of-life and hospice care around quality of life.

Description

For patients on hospice care, volunteers play an essential role. Whether they’re simply being present with a patient or helping behind the scenes, volunteers help create trusting bonds and meaningful memories for hospice patients and their loved ones. Just as volunteers are important to hospice patients, hospice patients make service work rewarding for volunteers. Hospice volunteers provide comfort, compassion and care for people as they near the end of life.
