We're all animal people here at Seattle Humane, but we need people people too! Adoption Support volunteers help adopters and staff with the adoption process by welcoming and engaging with shelter visitors, answering questions and facilitating meet and greets between available pets and potential adopters. If you love talking to people and want to help them complete their families, we'd love to have your help!
Volunteers are currently needed on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday afternoons from either 12 - 3 p.m. or 3 - 6 p.m. and can choose to specialize in either cat or dog adoptions. We have an especially high need for dog adoption support on Saturdays. To help new volunteers get familiar with our campus and pet handling policies, all Adoption Support volunteers begin training through our Shelter Support and Animal Care roles before working with adopters. Due to the amount of training involved, we're seeking volunteers who can commit to a regular weekly shift for at least 3 months.
