We have many patients from many different cultures and countries who would love speak with similar backgrounds. Just think how comforting it would be to hear or read your native language that you may have not heard in a while. During a scary time the familiar sounds or letters can change your world. Just think how comforting that would be for the patients and their families.
Sharing your valuable free time with Compassionate Care Hospice is flexible and fits on your schedule. It can be remote or in person. It can be just an hour or two a week, more if you like. We train you in everything you need to know so you feel comfortable. There is an onboarding process that has an application and paperwork. There is a background check through your drivers license or passport. In person has a few more health requirements. We can have you volunteering in 2 weeks if you get all the paperwork in quickly.

Description
For patients on hospice care, volunteers play an essential role. Whether they’re simply being present with a patient or helping behind the scenes, volunteers help create trusting bonds and meaningful memories for hospice patients and their loved ones. Just as volunteers are important to hospice patients, hospice patients make service work rewarding for volunteers. Hospice volunteers provide comfort, compassion and care for people as they near the end of life.
Volunteering Opportunities
-Remote Volunteering Opportunities
-Administrative: Support hospice office operations
-Bereavement: Support family members who have lost a loved one
-Direct Patient Support: Visit and support patients one-on-one.
-Veteran Volunteering: Take part in Veteran Pinning Ceremonies and other special opportunities to honor our Veterans.
-Professional: Share a special skillset or credential you have with patients and families
-Pet Therapy: Licensed Pet Therapy Animals needed (Must provide proof of certificates/accreditation)
-Music: Sing directly to patients wherever they call "home."
